Sometimes it happens in the car on the way home from your sister-in-law’s. The children, tired from a day of sun and fun, are sleeping in the back seat. You notice that there’s not a grain of sand on them. They’re clean. None in the car, either. No sand anywhere. You look at each other and it starts.
Again, “Wouldn’t it be nice if we had a pool too?” “It would be, but the kids are too young. A pool is expensive to put in, expensive to maintain. We work hard enough; we just don’t need more stuff to do. And, we don’t even know how to start looking for a reliable pool builder.” Just about every family who’s ever thought about putting in a pool or spa has had similar conversations with each other, their families, their friends, their neighbors and any one else that will allow themselves to be drawn into the discussion.
Sometimes it goes on for years without being resolved. Should you have a pool or shouldn’t you? As a pool and spa company, we’d like to say “of course, everyone should have one.” As a reliable, respected pool company with over a third of a century in this area, we have to say “Maybe you shouldn’t. Maybe a pool just isn’t right for you and your family.”
And again, maybe you should. Only you can decide that. If you really think about it, there are a lot of really good reasons to own a pool. Just think, you won’t have to get the kids dressed, pack a lunch, fight heavy traffic driving to a crowded public beach, where you have the privilege of having to find a parking place. Then you have to carry everything, coolers, blankets, the little ones through hot sand, just to swim in dirty water. Having a pool, all you really have to do is, put your bathing suit on and jump into sparkling clean water, whenever you want. If you’re hungry, thirsty, or have to use the bathroom, everything is right there; in your home. Pools are also a wonderful way of the family spending time relaxing together. Imagine for a moment, coming home from work hot and tired, putting your bathing suit on, jumping into the pool, swimming a few laps (it’s great exercise too!), then relaxing on your deck with a cool drink.
It doesn’t get much better than that! Of course, there are some additional benefits, one being, the beauty of a pool or spa increases your property value. But what about your children’s safety? That’s usually a major concern for most parents. Local codes require fencing. But, we know children. The best way to keep them safe is to teach them to swim. Teach them about water safety. And, around the pool area, little ones should always wear a life jacket. But most importantly, always keep an eye on them.
Maintenance is usually another concern. How much work is there to maintain your pool or spa? There really isn’t too much. About once a week you check water and chlorine levels. You might have to add some chemicals to keep the water balanced especially in hot weather. Keeping your pool clean doesn’t have to be a lot of work either. We can even install an automatic pool vacuum. It virtually eliminates maintenance, except for chemicals. Or, if you’re too busy to maintain it yourselves, we can always take care of it for you.
Another major concern is how you go about choosing a pool builder. The newspapers are full of ads showing pools at really low prices. You’ve probably looked into some of them and found that for one reason or another the advertised price of the pool doesn’t apply to your needs. How do you find a pool company that understands what you need and isn’t just trying to sell you a pool or spa? One of the best ways is to ask your neighbors. Many of them will tell you to speak to us, Kazdin Pools and Spas. Or call The APSP (Association of Pool & Spa Professionals). They’ll tell you that Kazdin Pools and Spas was the first certified pool builder on Long Island. Or talk to us. You’ll soon understand why we’ve been here for so long. We’ve been designing, building, maintaining and winning awards for your neighbor’s pools and spas for over 35 years.
A lot of other pool companies have come and gone in that time, but we’re still here. And here’s where we’re going to stay. All of us at Kazdin believe in working closely with our customers. Right from the first time they call us or stop by our store. We’re happy to spend the time with you to find out what your needs, your concerns and what your fears are. Then we all work together to alleviate them. When it comes to your pool’s cost, we probably won’t have the lowest price. We can’t do the quality of work we do, and maintain the reputation we have by being the cheapest pool company around. But we can, and do, give one of the best values you can get at any price.
